Special Social Activites

There will be a special event scheduled on Friday after the technical sessions are over. Please see the Friday Afternoon Schedule.

Conference Location

The conference will be held at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA , with rooms at US$159/night from Sunday (9/22) -> Thur (9/26).

If you are coming early or staying late, the rates will be
Thursday (9/19) : $159
Fri/Sat (9/20-21) : $209
Fri/Sat (9/27-28) : $209

To register for a room at the conference hotel, you may call them at +1 (866) 513-9744. Ask for In-House Reservations and request the Tcl/Tk Conference Block to get the Tcl/Tk Conference room rate.

The Bourbon-Orleans has extended our block date!
These rooms will be released to the general public after August 31, so be sure to reserve your room early.

The room rate is $159/night.

Transportation

Air

New Orleans is served by Louis Armstrong International (MSY), as well as several private pilot/charter strips.

Ground

New Orleans is served by Greyhound and Amtrak.

Local

It will not be necessary to rent a car for the duration of the conference. There is no curb side parking in the French Quarter (the area where the hotel is). Parking at the hotel is $27/day (in-and-out valet)/

You can reach the Bourbon Orleans from the airport by Taxi ($26 one way) or Airport Shuttle ($26 round trip).

Once you reach the hotel, there are many fine restaurants, microbrew pubs, jazz and folk clubs, etc within a short walk or a short cab ride puts hundreds more within you reach.

Food and Shopping

The Bourbon-Orleans is located in the center of the French Quarter. There is food, booze, music, shopping, museums, the Aquarium, the Riverfront and more within easy walking distance.

Taxi service is available from the front of the hotel.

Connectivity

The hotel has internet connections in each room and wireless access in the public area.

For presenters, computers will be available for use during your presentation. These will be equipped with Linux or Windows 2000 with MS Office or OpenOffice.

New Orleans

For those of you coming early or staying late, New Orleans will be happy to show you a good time.
